September, 2009Waterford Fish and Game Association Minutes of the September 14, 2009 Meeting
At 7:00PM President John Conti opened the meeting with eleven members present. August minutes from online were read and passed. David Yates reported funds in cash, savings, checking, CD’s, and money market. In addition he paid Murch for range enhancement and Barker for the roof repair on the rifle range. With only three skids of clays, it was recommended that five more skids be purchased from Nelson. The motion was made and passed. Bob Cutter has been out sick.
Old Business Robert Baker reported that he will become certified to teach Concealed Weapons Permit course after taking a program for three Sundays. He also reported that there were 14 entries in the Three Gun Shoot; Joe Peterson was the winner. The Competition Group has not yet met. David Yates reported that the 31 Gun Raffle will go up "to the last minute," and he raised a question about the purchase of a radar gun. John Conti reported membership at 167. John Conti read a draft of the letter to be given to the Waterford Selectman and then it will be placed on the agenda at the next Selectmen’s Meeting.
New Business At 7:15 Paul Brook came in to report on Waterford Selectmen’s Meeting, and they said, "No Issue!" with the Club. Paul responded that the Club was a jewel for Waterford. He also felt that the letter should be put before the Selectmen. The motion was made and passed. Paul suggested that some of the club’s assets should be included with the letter: Police Department’s use, Gould Academy’s use and the Writer’s Organization’s use. Under the topic of club membership an issue came up with the application of a possible hostile member, so review of the process of accepting new members is in order perhaps by a committee. One answer might be a temporary membership when the asked to join and then that would be voted on at the next meeting. Anyone who has already been a member would automatically be renewed on application. Anyone rejected, their money would be returned. John raised the issue that the Bylaws needs a revision to include attention to shotgun shooters. Paul recommended that NRA Bylaws be researched. Robert Baker would like to have the next Three Gun Shoot On February 14. He would like the Club to purchase a projector.
